Be Bold For Christ

Be Bold for Christ

Acts 3:1-9
3 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Acts 4:1-32
1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

 Let’s Pray,
We ask for boldness through faith in you Lord; The Creator of all things and Author of our faith through Jesus Christ our Lord.
By your Name (Jesus) all things are possible.
We pray for those whom you chose to suffer for your name sake this morning and lift them up to you in our prayer this morning. Please continue to watch over us and keep us Strong in your will Lord.

 Amen.

The subject this morning is not so much the miracle of healing the man that had been lame for over 40 years, but about three simple facts:

 Fact #1:
All believers in Christ are to do “Random Acts of Kindness”

 Fact #2:
When people do things in the name of Jesus and for his name’s sake they will be judged by this world…

 Fact #3:
We are to share the Gospel… and BE BOLD for Christ…

These simple truths about applied to the apostles back then as they do today. So For the next half hour I’d like for everyone to listen and self-examine yourself to see if you fit the model of being Christ like. And if not we can always pray to our Lord for the Boldness to share His gospel with this dying world.

Fact #1: All believers in Christ are to do “Random Acts of Kindness”

In Acts 3 verses 1 thru 5 paints a beautiful picture of a person in need –AND- a couple of Godly men about to ask God what they are to do next.

When we go to our Lord in prayer it is always in a position of asking for something, for example;

“Dear Lord my car broke down and I sure could use some help about now”
 â€“or-
“My life is upside down financially and I’m not sure what to do next”
 -or how about-
“Lord please help me reach this dying world better know you, please help me find a way to share your good news”

Of these scenarios how many times do we ask God to help us become better servants for His Kingdom? I not we need to work on that one.

Now speaking of random act of kindness, how many of us this morning has ever done a random act of kindness to someone in the last week? Month? Year?

We may not be able to say and do what the apostles Peter and John did, but I believe we can stop and help someone that we don’t even know and acknowledge them and if it be the Lord’s will there might be an opportunity to share the Good News about Christ. We have been richly blessed, more ways than one, and it is import to share our blessings, especially our Heavenly Blessing of eternal Salvation through Christ Jesus who paid for our ticket into heaven.

Most importantly, it is good to let people know that they are cared about in this life.

Fact #2: When people do things in the name of Jesus and for his name’s sake they will be judged by this world…

Did you know that in over 40 nations around the world today Christians are being persecuted for their faith? In some of these nations it is illegal to own a Bible, to share your faith Christ, change your faith ot tach your children about Jesus. Those who BOLDLY follow Christ – in spite of government edict or radical opposition can face harassment arrest, torture and even death Yet Christians continue to meet for worship and to witness for Christ, and the church in restricted nations is growing…

Areas of the World where Christians face persecution include:

Matt 24:9
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

At the start of the 21st century, the words of Christ prophesying the persecution of his followers ring as clearly as ever – they’re accuracy echoed in a variety of international reports showing Christians to be the most persecuted faith group in the modern world.

Beheadings, torture, rape, kidnappings, mass killings, forced starvation, imprisonment and even crucifixions attest that the persecution of Christians did not end at the foot of the cross or the closed gates if the Roman Coliseum.

Last year alone, sources indicate that an estimated 165,000 Christians died because of religious or ethnic clashes. Of the 2 Billion professed Christians today approximately 10% (200 Million) suffer persecution today.

Fact #3: We are to share the Gospel… and BE BOLD for Christ…

Share the Good News about how Jesus Died, was buried and rose again for our sins and by believing in God’s Son Christ Jesus we are saved (Romans 10:8-10 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.)
Simply telling the truth about what Christ Jesus has done for us… There should be no shame for this Truth but excitement to know the Truth and to see the changes in people’s life that come through the saving Faith in Christ Jesus.
